Tools 'n' Tips - For Organisers
This page is designed to give organisers of events a 'guideline' to what is possible. The tools and ideas should in no way limit your creativity. Please feel free to contact us with your thoughts, ideas and suggestions. The typical duration for a seminar is around two hours! This should allow time for a cuppa and a chat after the lecture. The presenter will be available during that time to answer questions and to edify and/or endorse the actions proposed by those who brought their guests and friends to the seminar. As always, Better Living Resource's purpose is to help you to provide the solutions to the problems that the seminars uncover. Tickets on Consignment In order to help your distributors to entice their guests and friends to attend the seminars, we empower you to offer the tickets (which we will supply - on request) at a discounted price of "$10", provided the money is paid in advance! - The door price is $15 per person! Give your active people some tickets so they can pre-sell them to their guests/loved-ones/friends/prospects at "$10" this is designed to help your people to get a commitment from those they are inviting (a financial commitment is usually better that an, I ll be there .) Please make sure that the cash has exchanged hands well before the event. "Letterbox Drops" This tool that is designed to help some active people who like to do letter-box drops and similar types of activities. Although it is always better to get people to pay for their tickets in advance (that sort-of locks them in to attending), what happens if someone turns up as the result of a letter-box drop or if they picked up a flier from a shop counter, community notice board, etc? Whose guest are they? We have developed a special flier for those occasions (refer to the table below for samples of the "Letter Box Drop" Fliers for each of the available lectures). The flier should have the distributor s name on the tear-off section and the incentive for someone to bring the flier to the seminar is that, when they pay the door price of $15 at the door and hand in the flier, completed with their name and details, they will receive a free Food Additives booklet valued at $3. The fliers can be used in many ways: Shop-keepers, Health Food Store owners etc, can add them to parcels as they are dispatched; Health practitioners can hand them out to their clients; they can be left on shop counters, in waiting rooms at doctor's, hair dressers, and in any public places. There are people who are paid to deliver promotional material to letter boxes (e.g. Australia Post). Fund-raisers Better Living Resources is pleased to use our seminars, lectures and workshops to support the fund-raising efforts of 'not for profit' organisations. We will donate $5 for every $15 ticket pre-sold by the organisation. Rather than having their children walking the streets, knocking on doors, trying to sell 'chocolate bars', some schools have been able to raise over $1000 by encouraging their staff and parents to attend one of our lectures. Large schools often provide the venue/hall free of charge, other schools, pre-schools and play groups have 'clubbed together' to conduct an event exclusively for their organisations. Some smaller organisations have used the fund-raising scheme as part of one of our public events. The possibilities are endless... and we will be pleased to discuss any proposals put forward by the seminar promoter. Please CLICK HERE to contact us!
Local Suppliers' Exhibits The local suppliers of goods and/or services that are relevant to the subjects covered by Rob's lectures (organic food growers or suppliers, water filter shops, natural therapists, homeopathic vaccinators, etc) are encouraged to set-up a static display in the lecture room (if space permits) of their products or brochures and business cards. The displays are not to be 'manned' as the main focus must remain on the total message, however, Rob will speak about the display during the lecture and encourage the interested members of the audience to place their names on a list supplied by the display owner, for a follow-up call with further information. The cost for the exhibit is $50 for which they will be given 5 tickets to sell for $10 to their customers. This gives the display owner the opportunity to on-sell the tickets to some of their established customers. The seminar organiser (leader) will supply the tickets and collect the money, after discussing the relevance and appropriateness of the display proposal with Better Living Resources. Venue Requirements:
Of Major Importance Your main job as leader will be to train your distributors and 'helpers' to follow up immediately after the event. These seminars are 'generic'! The presenter will NOT be promoting any specific products or companies... that is YOUR job! You must provide them with the specific solutions! Better Living Resources provides the 'third party' credibility which is designed to support the good work that you are doing in enlightening the people in your sphere of influence. We find that most people who attend our seminars will be out in the health food shops looking for answers to the problems that the seminar poses. So... use the half hour after the seminar to answer your guest's questions. Better Living Resources suggests that organisers of seminars select a venue that has the ability to provide tea and coffee after the seminar is over. It could be a facility that already has a coffee bar where you can purchase a tea or coffee to have with your guest while you discuss the best solutions for them. Or it could be a hall where there is an urn and you can provide cups of tea and coffee and even a few bikkies (not Tim Tams!) Please note, however, proceeds from the door takings still go to charity... therefore, Better Living Resources, although happy to pay a reasonable price for the venue hire out of the door takings, is reluctant to pay for tea, coffee etc. We believe that is your responsibility! Really interested, quiet and attentive children under 18 are invited to attend free of charge when accompanied by a paying adult (our seminars are all about teaching the next generation how to change the attitudes towards Better Living). Genuine financial hardship cases - in consultation with BLR, may be able to attend with a 'donation' cost and help with the door or product sales table! It will be the Organiser's responsibility to ensure the cost of the venue is covered by the door-takings. Any losses are to be reimbursed by the organiser or organising committee. If you would like us to conduct a seminar or workshop in YOUR area, please contact us with particulars, questions or ideas.
